Whether you are a Student, Job seeker, Business owner, Self employed or House wife the ability to speak English adds more value to your personality. While the majority of the people can read and write English but speaking is where they go numb. People hesitate to speak for various reasons like lack of confidence, hesitation, fear of being mocked at etc. In the past year or so we have helped hundreds of individuals overcome the barrier of not being able to communicate in English.

Depression – Care & Cure

According to WHO -World Health Organization 1 out of 5 people suffer from Depression and in the coming decade Depression will impact 35% of the total population. Research shows that people are hesitant to seek treatment for Depression and there is lot of social stigma attached to acknowledging that one suffers from depression. As a result many people never seek help and that leads to acute depression along with other forms of anxiety. Suicides are quiet common as stress levels are very high. A depressed person is reluctant to share how they feel and fakes his/her well being by acting as if everything is fine.

Lack of general awareness about depression and no physical symptoms make it difficult for the family & friends to understand what one is going through. They misunderstand depression with attention seeking syndrome or as they put it - why are you acting weird? The result is a person never opens up with the family about depression. We are comfortable talking to complete strangers on the internet but not with our family & friend. The challenge is most strangers don’t stick too long to be caregivers which is what is needed in the current situation. SOG has a team of caregivers who have suffered depression themselves & hence they not only understand how it feels but also stay as a friend on watch. Just like someone who is always there to listen and show you all possible perspective to a situation.
